Dr Brenda Davies is a consultant psychiatrist and author. Her debut novel The Girl Behind the Gates draws on the history of institutional care to tell a story of injustice, trust and recovery.
Her professional experience informs fiction concerned with the human consequences of social judgement and the possibility of rebuilding a life. The novel was published by Hodder & Stoughton in 2020.
