Tierney Read once tried to impress a boy by reading Wuthering Heights. He didn't last, but the interest in brooding men and loosely laced bodices did.
She followed her more enduring love of nineteenth-century English literature from McGill University to Oxford, where she earned a master’s degree and wrote a thesis on food and identity in mid-Victorian novels. She later went to law school at the University of Toronto, ‘just in case’. These days, she writes contemporary romance novels about ambitious women and the happy endings they've earned (usually the hard way).
She lives in Toronto, Canada with her family and two standard poodles, whom she taught herself to groom like the poodle emoji.
