Richard Bevan writes television, theatre and comedy. His television work includes Doctors, while his original projects range from social comedy to crime and drama.

Richard joined BBC Bristol in the Natural History Unit before becoming a freelance radio reporter for BBC and World Service Radio in late 90’s which led to writing scripts and his first TV credit writing for BBC’s Doctors series. His first stage play ‘Trading Faces’, a black comedy, was performed in London and nominated for Best Play by the Off West End Awards in 2011. In 2013 Richard was selected for Screen Yorkshire’s ‘Triangle’ scheme which led to collaborations on productions. Brass in Pocket : Comedy-drama TV series.

A coming-of-age story based on real events in 80’s Huddersfield. A 17-year-old gay youth Marty secretly becomes a chauffeur to a notorious drag artiste as an evangelical Chief Constable sets out on a moral crusade against the gay community and prostitutes. Roxy & Ringo : Children’s comedy series. 12-year-old Roxy is determined to invent something that will change the world while her science teacher father Ringo secretly builds a space craft in the school basement. After his wrestling club owner brother dies unexpectedly, flamboyant cabaret artiste Binkie is forced to take over management of the ailing Welsh club. Thumperjack : Black comic thriller series/film. Three impressionable teenagers become involved in a plot to rob their private school with guns led by disgruntled student obsessed with revolution.
