ABOUT ISABELLE
Isabelle is a BIFA-winning writer, director, producer and author based in Yorkshire. Her work brings emotional honesty, dark humour and genre to stories about women, across feature film, television and publishing.
She began her career as a script reader and assistant at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles. Over an international career spanning twenty years, she has developed and produced fiction and documentary with filmmakers from around the world.
Her credits include Son of Babylon, Iraq’s official Academy Awards submission, The Journey and In My Mother’s Arms. Her work also includes Irkalla: Gilgamesh’s Dream, which premiered at Locarno and screened at Toronto.
Her projects have received support and recognition from the BFI, Sundance Institute, British Council and BBC Writersroom. Alongside her screen work, she is writing a memoir and developing books that carry her candid, female-centred voice onto the page.
